Leading X Factor duo Amelia & Janet odds-on to be stars

AMELIA LILY and Janet Devlin already look set to be stars, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies have been blown away by the two X Factor market leaders and make Amelia just 1/10 to sign a recording deal for an album regardless of her performance in the show. It’s 7/1 she records this year’s Christmas number one (5/1 Janet does the same).

Both singers are 5/1 each to have a UK number one single and album next year, which is a shorter quote than given to favourite and eventual winner Matt Cardle at the final stage last year.

In the head-to-head betting, it’s Janet who is expected to register the first number one single at 8/15 (11/8 Amelia beats her to it) and should Amelia take the world by storm she’s 20/1 to shift more copies of her album in 2012 than anyone else worldwide.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Despite it being far from over two singers have really captured our attention. We’re convinced that win or lose both Amelia & Janet will go on to greatness.”

He added: “The betting also suggests a female solo singer is the hot tip for victory this year.”
