Lulu looks a lively longshot to win Strictly Come Dancing
Published:Men have held the edge in the most recent series’ of Strictly Come Dancing, but Lula looks the best bet after the line-up for the upcoming series was recently revealed.
Lulu is 10/1 in the Strictly Come Dancing odds and has certainly built up a big fanbase in her 40+ years in the music industry.
She also showed her dancing credentials with a performance of attitude and energy in a rendition of Soulja Boy’s ‘Crank That’ for Comic Relief earlier this year.
Women may have only one two of the last six Strictly Come Dancing series’, but Alex Jones and Holly Valance are also promising winning candidates.
Jones should be a strong dancer after taking part in ballet lessons as a youngster and is 6/1 to claim victory.
Meanwhile, BBC employees of the time tend to have a good record on the programme, with Natasha Kaplinsky and Chris Hollins both previous winners.
Valance is 8/1 to win Strictly Come Dancing and her career in the acting business should stand her in good stead.
However, there has never been a winner in the eight series’ so far from outside of the British Isles, which could be significant.
Harry Judd from boyband McFly is the early 6/4 favourite and wowed viewers with a performance of the hit ‘Ego’ by The Saturdays on a previous Strictly Come Dancing Children In Need Special.
From the line-up, Judd seems the most comparable to former winner Tom Chambers and runners up Matt Di Angelo and Ricky Whittle.
Therefore, he is almost guaranteed to reach the latter stages of the competition and although it is early, is potentially a shoe-in to at least reach the final.
Other prices include Jason Donovan at 10/1, football pundit Robbie Savage 14/1, Nancy Dell’Olio at 14/1 and Audley Harrison at 20/1, although based on his lack of footwork in the boxing ring, this looks the ultimate longshot.
