Wolves vs Tottenham: More misery for Redknapp and Co

| 10.09.2011

Harry Redknapp never lets an opportunity pass to remind everyone that Tottenham were bottom of the Premier League when he took charge in 2008.

Now, after getting hammered by Manchester United and City, they are back at the foot of the table.

With Wolves in such good form, it’s hard to see them climbing the table this weekend.

Match odds

Spurs head into the game as 7/5 favourites, but it’s Wolves who catch the eye at 15/8.

Spurs’ brilliant Champions League campaign went some way to masking their poor league form at the end of last season and Harry Redknapp’s side have now won just three of their last 14 Premier League games.

Meanwhile, Wolves have lost only one of their previous seven and haven’t lost at home to Spurs in two games since their return to the top tier.

Backing Wolves to win at 15/8 could yield a very tidy pay out.

Goal markets

There have been plenty of goals at Molineux over the past few Premier League games, with seven of their previous nine games yielding over 2.5 goals.

With Spurs also shipping eight in two games so far this term, backing over 2.5 goals at 5/6 looks like a cracking bet.

New Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor is favourite in the first goalscorer market at 6/1, although a better bet would be to back him to score at anytime at 7/4.

Roman Pavlyuchenko scored in both of Spurs’ games with Wolves last season and if handed a start, he could be a leading contender to find the net inside the 90 minutes at 9/4.

Kevin Doyle has been in impressive form so far this term and he can be backed to get his second goal of the campaign at the same price of 9/4.
