Leeds vs Cardiff: Bluebirds chase seventh straight win against Leeds

Published:

Leeds and Cardiff games are never the friendliest of encounters and with just one point separating these sides in the Championship table, this clash promises to be no different.

Both teams are amongst the favourites to be promoted to the Premier League and with things tight at the top of the Championship, this should be an intriguing fight between two old foes.

Live on Sky Sports at 1.15pm, you can expect a ferocious atmosphere inside Elland Road and neither side will want to lose ground on the sides currently topping the Championship.

Match odds

Cardiff head into this games as the 2/1 outsiders to bag all three points, but there is plenty to suggest they can upset those odds.

The Bluebirds have won all of the previous six meetings with Leeds and have been in great nick in their last two games with wins against Barnsley and Burnley at the Cardiff City Stadium.

While this trip to Yorkshire will provide a sterner test than home games with Barnsley and Burnley, Malky Mackay’s side will be confident of retuning from Leeds with all three points.

However, Simon Grayson has moulded Leeds into a solid promotion-chasing side and, with the Yorkshire side not losing at home since a 1-0 defeat against Middlesbrough in August, Leeds can be backed at 13/10 to get the win.

Goal markets

Not one of Leeds’ games at Elland Road this season has seen a goalless draw while Cardiff haven’t failed to find the net in their previous five games suggesting there will be goals in this clash.

The previous two meetings between these sides has seen seven goals scored with the last encounter at Leeds finishing with a 4-0 win to Cardiff.

Backing over 2.5 goals at 4/6 may prove to be a bet well worth taking on.
