Man City vs Wolves: Aguero and co can run riot against visitors

| 29.10.2011

Things couldn’t have been more different for these sides last weekend.

Manchester City lapped up the plaudits for their 6-1 derby demolition of Manchester United while Wolves had to endure the boos during a dire performance against Swansea City that saw them, somehow, scrape a 2-2 draw.

Things promise to be very similar this weekend…

Match odds

City head into this game as massive favourites at 1/6, with Wolves out at a huge 16/1 to get a win.

It’s easy to see why though – Roberto Mancini’s men are now 6/5 favourites to win the Premier League after winning eight of their nine league games this season and drawing the other away to Fulham.

They have shipped just one goal at the Eastlands this term and have the best attacking home record in the league.

With Wolves having just one win in their previous nine games and their last game seeing them hammered by Man City 5-2 in the Carling Cup, this could be another long afternoon for Mick McCarthy.

Goal markets

In stark contrast to the past couple of seasons, everywhere you look in the City squad, you can see goals.

Their previous five games have yielded at least three goals and they have found the net 21 times themselves in that period.

Backing over 3.5 goals at 1/1 could prove to be a very lucrative punt.

When it comes to goalscorers, it’s hard to look too far beyond Sergio Aguero. The Argentine has found the net nine times in the Premier League already this season and is 4/7 to score at any time.

However, if you like your odds a little longer then backing Samir Nasri, who scored against Wolves in the week, to find the net at 13/8 could be worth considering.
