Everton vs Swansea: Rogers’ men can stick it to Toffees

| 20.12.2011

Everton’s draw with Norwich City at Goodison Park last weekend means the Toffees have now won just two home Premier League games this season.

Things should be better this Wednesday night as they welcome Swansea City to Liverpool for the first meeting between the sides since 1988.

However, as the Swans showed against Newcastle United in a goalless draw on Saturday, they are no pushovers…

Match odds

Swansea may have the worst away record in the Premier League but they have shown in draws away to Liverpool and Newcastle that they can be a tough proposition.

They are 5/1 to get their first ever win in the Premier League but, with the lively Nathan Dyer ruled out with a foot injury, a vital cog in their machine is missing.

Everton have beaten both Wolves and Wigan at Goodison this term and are 8/13 to get their third home win against a side who are just one point above them in the table having played a game more.

Goal markets

Bagging goals on the road has been almost as big a problem as not conceding them for Swansea and they have just six goals in their eight games away from the Liberty this season.

However, Everton have conceded at least one goal in each of their league games at Goodison this term so backing over 2.5 goals looks well worth consideration at 11/4.

Finally, Everton look set to start with Denis Stracqualursi who impressed in his cameo against Norwich at the weekend and he is 6/1 to get the first goal in this clash.
