Simon Cowell gives prediction on who will win X Factor
Published:Little Mix have regained their position as favourites to win the X Factor and in a small way this could be related to comments that Simon Cowell is tipping them to triumph.
With the X Factor now at the semi-final stage, all of the remaining four acts will be looking for the smallest of edges over the opposition to firstly reach the final and then to emerge victorious in the competition.
Having the backing of X Factor supremo Simon is certainly a massive feather in the cap of Little Mix and it is now 6/5 that they are the first band to ever win the show, which is now in its eighth series.
They had taken over favouritism for the first time ahead of the quarter finals, but after the latest live show it was Marcus Collins that momentarily headed the X Factor betting.
According to the Mirror, Simon told the girls’ mentor Tulisa: “Simon rang me at home one night to chat about the show, telling me things he wanted me to work on to keep the programme as fresh as possible and things he liked, which was nice to hear.
“He told me that he really liked the girls. He actually said he’s backing them to win. They’re all really nice girls.”
Although Little Mix still have to get through the semi finals, they are already being asked questions about their preferred choice for a duet in the final.
The size of the star taking part in the duet could have a major influence on the result, with Rihanna taking to the stage with eventual winner Matt Cardle last year.
Given their choice, Little Mix would like to duet with their mentor Tulisa, but this would be new ground for the X Factor and there are doubts about how well this would be received by the voting public and even the remaining three judges.
However, for the first time there is the possibility if Little Mix and Marcus reach the final that all of the finalists perform with their mentor and this could be an interesting avenue worth exploring.
