Man City title odds slashed after dramatic Tottenham win

| 23.01.2012

Manchester City’s Premier League title odds have been drastically cut following their last gasp victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

The league leaders raced into a two goal lead against Spurs early in the second half before being pegged back thanks to brilliant goals from Jermain Defoe and Gareth Bale.

It was left to Mario Balotelli to settle things with a penalty in the fourth minute of injury-time and the result now means City have a three point advantage over Manchester United at the top of the table and an eight point lead over Spurs.

It has seen City cut to 4/9 to win their first Premier League title and they will take some catching – especially if they continue their brilliant home form that has seen them win all 11 games at Eastlands this term.

United’s win against a patchwork Arsenal has also see them cut from 11/5 to 2/1 but they remain very much the outsiders of the Manchester sides.

Meanwhile, Spurs’ title chances look to be over after picking up just one point in their last two games against Wolves and City.

They have drifted to 22/1 having been as short as 6/1 last week.

However, they remain 1/6 to finish in the top four and get back in the Champions League and are currently ten points ahead of Arsenal in fourth.

The Gunners are now 9/4 to end the season in the top four and are an absolutely massive 200/1 to win the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Finally, Chelsea – who had another disappointing weekend after drawing away to Norwich – are 80/1 to win the league and 1/3 to make it back into the Champions League.
