Man Utd firm FA Cup favourites despite drawing Liverpool

Manchester United will face Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup following their dramatic 3-2 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Liverpool had already secured progression thanks to a comfortable 5-1 win against Oldham Athletic on Friday evening and this game has all the makings of a classic.

Tensions between the clubs have been increasingly high in recent months following the clash between Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra that saw the Liverpool striker banned for eight games for racially abusing the Frenchman.

United have been installed as the early favourites to win the tie – which will take place at Anfield – at 6/4, with Kenny Dalglish’s men out at 9/5 to make it through in the 90 minutes.

The draw hasn’t altered United’s position as favourites and they are still 9/2 to win their first FA Cup since 2004.

Elsewhere, Chelsea – who swept past Portsmouth 4-0 in the third round – will face the winner of the reply between MK Dons and QPR, with the Blues priced at 5/1 to win the competition.

Also at 5/1 is Tottenham Hotspur who have been drawn to face Watford in the next round.

Last year’s finalists Stoke City are 33/1 to go one better this time out and face a tough trip to Derby in their next game, while last season’s losing semi-finalists Bolton will play fellow Premier League side Swansea City if they can overcome Macclesfield.
