Refunds on offer if Bent continues fine Arsenal scoring record

Darren Bent has typically been a thorn in Arsenal’s side when facing them in the Premier League and if he continues to find the target against Arsene Wenger’s men in the FA Cup, some punters will see their losing bets refunded.

Bent has scored six goals in his last eight Premier League appearances against Arsenal and is almost certain to line up against them again for Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the Emirates.

The England striker also has three goals in his last two clashes with Arsenal, including both strikes in Aston Villa’s 2-1 success at the Emirates late in the last campaign.

With Robbie Keane now providing some added creativity in the Villa ranks and Bent back fit after missing the league defeat to Arsenal earlier in the season, the chances of Alex McLeish’s team scoring are enhanced.

Aston Villa have also netted at least once in seven of their last nine meetings with Arsenal.

The offer is that all losing first scorer bets will be refunded if Bent scores in the 90 minutes, meaning that it may pay to take a punt on a longshot breaking the deadlock.

Among the options that may appeal are Gabby Agbonlahor at 10/1, who has the pace to trouble Per Mertesacker in the Arsenal defence or Thomas Vermaelen at 16/1, who is known for his powerful strikes from distance.
