Scotland remain odds-on for 2014 referendum despite Cameron pleas

ALEX SALMOND’S referendum is now odds-on to take place in 2012 according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies have slashed the odds about it occurring in 2014 to just 1/2 in light of recent news and now make Scotland 5/2 to vote for their own Independence before 2015.

It’s 10/1 that they use the Euro before the end of 2020 and a bigger 20/1 that there’s a surprise call to the polling booths this year.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The shrewd money was on 2014 from the start. We’ve now had to slash the odds and as momentum builds the price about a ‘Yes’ result also has to shorten.”
