African Nations Cup: don’t expect surprises as Ghana face Tunisia

| 05.02.2012

The Ivory Coast and Zambia both booked themselves an African Nations Cup semi final spot thanks to comfortable 3-0 wins against Equatorial Guinea and Sudan on Saturday – and everything looks set to keep going to plan this Sunday.

Ghana face Group C runners-up Tunisia in their clash, while Gabon line up against underdogs Mali in their quarter final…

Ghana v Tunisia

Group D winners Ghana head into this game on the back of two wins and a draw in their three games so far in the tournament and are the 10/11 favourites.

Ghana have lost just once in their previous eight games – a friendly against Brazil – and they have shipped just three goals in that run.

Meanwhile, Tunisia haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their previous four games and lost their last encounter 1-0 against Gabon.

Backing Ghana to win at 10/11 looks well worth a punt, while also lumping some cash on them to keep a clean sheet at 1/1 is also worth consideration.

Gabon v Mali

Gabon are the 10/11 favourites and it’s hard to see Mali upsetting those odds.

The favouirtes have won all three of their African Nations Cup games so far and are five without defeat.

They face a team who have won just three of their last eight and kept just two clean sheets in that run.

Backing Gabon to win this at a very decent 10/11 looks like the best bet to take on.
