Europa League accumulator: Man City lead 16/1 home six-timer

Published:

Home advantage can often be key in European competition and we are expecting six teams to prove this the case to lead home a 16/1 Europa League accumulator from the second legs of the last-32 encounters.

Three English teams remain in the draw and Manchester City can be expected to repeat their success over Porto from Portugal.

Not only are Manchester City unbeaten in 15 European home games, but Porto have failed to ever record a single success in England, losing on 12 of their 14 previous visits.

However, Stoke are unlikely to be so lucky when travelling to Valencia in the hope of overturning a 1-0 first leg defeat.

Stoke have lost four of their last five fixtures in all competitions, while Valencia are unbeaten in six European home fixtures and broke their hoodoo against English opposition with their success at the Britannia Stadium.

Elsewhere, two managers can be expected to dump out former clubs, with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone taking on Lazio, while Besiktas’ Carlos Carvalhal is taking on Braga, a club he is a lifelong fan of and used to manage.

Besiktas head into their clash having won all four of their European home matches this season, while Atletico better this record with five successive victories in Europe at the Estadio Vicente Calderon.

Meanwhile, FC Twente have never been beaten by Romanian opposition and lead from the away leg heading into their clash with Steaua Bucharest, who themselves have failed to win in 11 European away games.

Finally, Sporting Lisbon can take advantage of a draw from their away leg with Legia Warsaw to go one better on their own patch.
