Man Utd draw sees Chelsea’s top four odds drift again

| 05.02.2012

Chelsea’s frustrating season continued this Sunday following their 3-3 draw against Manchester United.

While they may have taken a point before kick-off, Andre Villas-Boas’ men were 3-0 up after 50 minutes and looked to be cruising to victory.

However, two Wayne Rooney penalties and a Javier Hernandez header saw Sir Alex Ferguson’s men do what they have done so many times before and salvage something when all looked lost.

The result leaves United as second favourites to win the league at 7/4 with Manchester City in at 1/2 to claim a maiden Premier League title following their 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday – a win that has seen them open up a two-point lead over United.

However, the result may be more detrimental to Chelsea than United as the Blues have now drifted to 4/9 to finish in the top four and get Champions League football.

They should still have enough to get there but, with Arsenal winning 7-1 against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and Liverpool hitting some form, they may be in for a tough final few months of the season.

One thing that is for certain though is that their chances of winning the Premier League are as good as over.

They are now 14 points behind Man City and can be backed at a massive 125/1 to win the Premier League.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, Wigan look doomed to be relegated at 2/9 while both Swansea and Norwich have drifted to 12/1 and 14/1 respectively to go back to the Championship following a good couple of weeks for both sides.
