West Brom v Swansea: Welsh side can take big step to survival

Published:

Swansea may have been winning plenty of admirers for their stylish football this season but survival remains the major concern for Brendan Rodgers and his men.

The Swans were unlucky not to win their last game against Chelsea and were only denied the victory thanks to a Neil Taylor own goal in the last minute of the match.

A win for Swansea against West Brom could put them 12 points clear of the relegation zone and four points clear of the Baggies who have been rather erratic in recent weeks…

Match odds

West Brom are the favourites at 21/20 but the Swans have been in excellent form in recent weeks and got their first Premier League away win against Aston Villa in January.

They lost to a resurgent Sunderland in their last away league game but, having picked up points at home against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea in recent weeks, they could prove a tempting bet at 13/10.

Combined with the fact that West Brom have the third worst home record in the division and have not won in five Premier League games at the Hawthorns, the Swans could prove worth backing.

If you fancy playing things a little safer in what promises to be a tight game though, then the draw can be backed at a pretty decent 23/10.

Goal markets

West Brom have hit just three goals in their last five home league games and face a Swansea side who have the third worst away attack in the division.

Backing under 2.5 goals to be scored looks well worth consideration at 8/13.

Meanwhile, Scott Sinclair opened the scoring in the Swans’ last game against Chelsea and he is 7/1 to score first in this game.
