Fulham v Norwich: Hosts to overcome recent scoring woes

Published:

Fulham may have failed to score in their last three Premier League games, but this run can end as they secure a home victory over Norwich at 8/11.

Martin Jol’s men have not encountered the best of luck of late, being undone by an injury-time winner at Aston Villa and then being denied a stone-rule penalty at Old Trafford which should have claimed them a draw.

However, Norwich have only mustered two clean sheets all season and they have failed to shut out the opposition in all of their last six fixtures.

Norwich have shown signs of weakening of late and will also not have fond memories of Craven Cottage, losing 6-0 on their latest visit on the final day of the 2004/05 season to condemn them to relegation.

But the current team is a class above that of seven seasons ago and is more than capable of beating anyone.

It is 4/1 that Norwich secure victory, while the draw that may suit both teams that have nothing realistically to play for is available at 5/2.

Pavel Pogrebnyak started his Fulham career in blistering fashion with five goals in his first three Premier League appearances.

These goals have dried up lately, but 4/1 looks a decent price that he ends his barren streak of three games with the opener against Norwich.

For the visitors, it may pay to look at someone at a longer price given that top scorer Grant Holt is suspended.

Holt scored both goals but was then sent off in the 2-1 victory against Wolves.

Simeon Jackson may be the man to replace Holt and having scored against Fulham earlier in the season, he could appeal at 7/2 to strike at any time in the 90 minutes.
