Louis Saha to make his mark on return to Everton for Spurs

There’s nothing players love more than scoring against their former employers and Louis Saha is 13/8 to do just that at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The French striker kicked off his Spurs career with three goals in four starts but was forced to sit out Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Stevenage with a knee problem.

He is, however, expected to return to the side for the trip to Everton, where Spurs desperately need to arrest a run of successive league defeats.

Saha should have fond memories of this fixture, albeit in an Everton shirt.

He scored in both of the previous two meetings between the sides at Goodison Park, including the opening goal in a 2-1 home win in January last year. Saha is 11/2 to score the first goal.

And he was on target the last time he started against the Toffees at Goodison. Saha struck twice within the opening half hour in a 4-3 win for Manchester United in 2004.

The Frenchman also has previous when it comes to scoring against former clubs.

Just over a month after his acrimonious split from Fulham, Saha returned to Craven Cottage as a Manchester United player and needed just 14 minutes to get his name on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Rafael van der Vaart will relish another meeting with the Toffees, having scored in both clashes between the sides last season.

Van der Vaart has had more success on the road this season, scoring all but two of his nine goals away from White Hart Lane and is 9/4 to move into double figures with another goal at Goodison Park.

Interestingly, in all but one of the eight fixtures in which he has scored, he has broken the deadlock. The Dutchman is 7/1 to score first yet again.

Meanwhile, should Saha score at any time, Ladbrokes will refund all losing first-goalscorer bets.
