Sunderland v Everton: Tough to separate Wembley-chasing sides
Published:Sunderland welcome Everton to the Stadium of Light on Tuesday night, priced at 6/4 to prevail in their FA Cup quarter-final replay.
David Moyes takes the FA Cup equally as seriously as his Wearside counterpart Martin O’Neill, and his Toffees side will be at full strength when they attempt to justify 19/10 odds to win in 90 minutes.
The first leg at Goodison Park ended in a draw, which was also the case when the sides met at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League, and with both sides set to field their strongest sides possible, the 11/5 odds for the draw appeal here too.
On each occasion, a 1-1 scoreline has been the final result, and with Sunderland also drawing with this score on two occasions in their FA Cup campaign this year, there looks to be a good chance of a repeat at 11/2.
You can alternatively take up the 5/6 odds on both teams to score in the match, whilst it is 10/11 that 2-3 goals go in, and punters may wish to take advantage of the 7/5 about Everton winning or drawing in 90 minutes, with two or less strikes occurring.
O’Neill’s Black Cats have taken the lead against Everton on each of the two previous meetings between the sides this season, and having notched each of their goals in the first half against the Merseyside outfit, it may be wise to invest in Sunderland to score first in the first half at 13/8.
At a much longer 14/1 though, Sunderland can be backed to be leading at half-time, with a stalemate the full-time result, and this looks a terrific bet.
For first scorer options, Nicklas Bendtner continues to improve as the season progresses, and the Dane could come good at 5/1 for the first goal, after scoring three in his last five games.
Royston Drenthe poses a threat for the visitors meanwhile, and the on-loan Real Madrid man looks overpriced at 11/1 to add to his three goals for the season with the opener here.
