Arsenal v Man City: Gunners to enjoy home comforts

| 07.04.2012

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat against QPR last week and look a good price at 6/4 to beat a Manchester City side who have won only one of their last five in the Premier League as their title challenge has hit the buffers.

City could struggle to beat an Arsenal side that has only lost twice at the Emirates in the league this season. However, Roberto Mancini’s side have beaten the Gunners twice already this season and are 19/10 to repeat that feat this weekend.

With Arsenal looking to secure Champions League qualification once again under Arsene Wenger and City looking to keep the pressure on leaders Manchester United, a draw at 11/5 would be more beneficial to the hosts, who command a six-point gap over Chelsea and Newcastle.

Both sides have their own star striker, with Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie the favourite to break the deadlock at 7/2 and without a goal in his last three, the Dutchman may well be due one.

City’s 17-goal striker Sergio Aguero is the Sky Blues most potent man in front of goal but it is uncertain as to whether he will be fit for this one and Mancini may turn to Aguero’s fellow countryman, Carlos Tevez, who is 5/1 to get his first of the season here.

In the two other clashes between these sides City have been victorious by a 1-0 scoreline, a price of 8/1 looks very appealing for an away win of this nature in North London.

City’s second-half performances have been a real force this season. They have scored 51 of their 75 goals in the second period and at 4/1 may be worth backing to be drawing at half-time and winning at full-time, as has been the case in the previous two contests between these two.

City are currently 5/1 to win the Premier League and defeat by Wenger’s side this Easter weekend could signify the end of their title challenge.
