Championship Accumulator: Saints’ promotion party leads 32/1 five-fold

Southampton head off this week’s Championship accumulator as they bid to secure promotion to the Premier League at home to an already relegated Coventry.

A win for Nigel Adkins’ men will confirm a return to the top-flight for the first time since 2005.

They may have choked a little up in the North East last week against Boro, but they have already beaten the visitors twice this season, after meeting them in the league and the FA Cup, and the League One bound Sky Blues have failed to win in their last five.

Middlesbrough conquered Saints last week and they travel to Watford looking to sneak in the back door to the play-offs.

Tony Mowbray’s side will go into the tie at Vicarage Road boosted by that result and enter this one unbeaten in three.

The Hornets have fallen away in the last few weeks after they looked destined to challenge the top six, they haven’t won in five and are consigned to a mid-table finish.

However, Cardiff could make the result of the Boro clash elementary, if they score a win away at Palace.

The London club have little to play for as they sit comfortably in mid-table, whilst Malky Mackay’s men need a victory to confirm a place in the end of season knockout.

The Bluebirds are undefeated in nine, while their hosts have tasted victory only once in their last 12 outings.

Keith Hill’s Barnsley have ended the season in terrible form winning just once in 14 games and Brighton should make that 15 when they clash at Oakwell.

Gus Poyet cruised to a 2-0 win over Hill earlier in the campaign and could pick up his club’s first win in seven here.

Millwall are the form team at the moment with five consecutive triumphs, and they could extend that to six against Blackpool who are guaranteed a play-off place.

The Seasiders may look to rest key players in preparation for their semi-final, plus they haven’t beaten the Lions away from home in 13 attempts.
