Swansea v Blackburn: Blackburn to suffer fifth straight defeat

| 14.04.2012

Blackburn travel to the Liberty Stadium this weekend to take on a Swansea side that are priced at 1/1 to end a run of four consecutive defeats by overcoming Steve Kean’s side.

Swansea have only won four times away from home, but in contrast, have lost on only four occasions on home soil in their maiden Premier League season.

Blackburn, priced at 23/10 for the win, will take heart from the fact that they managed to overcome Brendan Rodgers’ side at Ewood Park earlier in the season and with Swansea losing their last two home ties, Rovers could cause an upset.

Swansea have drawn only one game since the turn of the year, whilst the Lancashire club have shared the spoils on just two occasions since Boxing Day, the stalemate here can be backed at 23/10.

Yakubu has become something of a talisman this season and hit a double last time out against Liverpool, not to mention scoring four the last time these two sides met, the Nigerian is a tempting 6/1 option to bag first in Wales.

The Welsh outfit have a midfielder in form in Gylfi Sigurdsson, the Icelander has scored six times from just 12 starts this term and he too is 6/1 to be the first man to find the net.

These two served up a thoroughly entertaining game back in December, with the one-time champions coming out on top in a 4-2 triumph, another thriller involving six goals may draw some attention at 12/1.

For the more cautious punter expecting goals, a game displaying over 4.5 goals is available at 11/2.

Another loss here could see Blackburn in danger of being cut adrift in the relegation zone and with them currently priced at 4/9 to be plying their trade in the Championship next year, it may be sensible to take that price before the weekend.
