Ladbrokes undecided whether Mancini will see red this season

Roberto Mancini is a 1/1 to shot to be dismissed from the dugout at some stage this season, according to Ladbrokes latest odds.

This price follows the tempestuous Italian’s touchline bust-up with Paul Lambert during his sides’ Capital One Cup defeat by Aston Villa.

The bookies are seemingly undecided as to whether Mancini will see red, whereas the 3/1 they’re offering that he’ll leave at any point in the current campaign suggests that the Man City hierarchy might not be willing to allow another early exit from a cup competition.

A repeat of last season’s group-stage elimination from the Champions League is something that they are unlikely to stand for and, with City having lost their first game, Mancini needs wins fast.

Failure to secure them against Dortmund and Ajax could see the odds of 25/1 that he is the next Premier League manager sacked significantly shorten, especially given their less-than convincing start to their domestic campaign.

The enormous investment City’s owners have made, a constant stream of silverware is a fundamental at the Etihad and, with one opportunity now gone, Mancini’s men remain odds-on at 4/6 to lift a trophy at the end of the season.

This is opposed to the 11/10 that says their fans are denied an end of season victory parade, which could well bring about the end of their Italian coach’s tenure.
