Another Belgian international is set to make switch to the Prem

Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe is back on David Moyes’ radar as he prepares to make a fresh bid for the Belgian midfielder when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The Toffees have started the season strongly and, as a result, have moved ahead of Liverpool and Newcastle in the betting for a top-four finish. They can now be backed at 11/2 to pull of this momentous feat for the second time under Moyes’ guidance.

He clearly intends to bulk up his midfield after failing in a bid for Odjidja-Ofoe on deadline day and, after watching him in Europa League action for Club Brugge against Maritimo, looks set to make a second swoop.

Odjidja-Ofoe has a great engine in the middle of the park, where he would form a solid partnership with Everton stalwart, Leon Osman.

There is also the added perk that Odjidja-Ofoe is in vogue as a Belgian international, which is apparently enough to spark an interest of any Premier League manager if recent top-flight transfer activity is anything to go by.

He has only represented his country three times, following 10 caps at under-21 level, yet he has made 117 appearances in Club Brugge colours since his move from Hamburg in 2009.

Everton appear to be pursuing this option as a youthful replacement for the aging Phil Neville, who often deputises in the anchor man role of Everton’s midfield.

However, a specialised option with a few more miles on the clock is required if Everton are to make the transition to challenge regularly at the top end of the Premier League and Odjidja-Ofoe would be a candidate who fits the bill perfectly.

As well as boasting international and continental experience, through playing for one of Belgium’s elite clubs he is accustomed to pushing for silverware at the business end of the season, something which too few players at Goodison Park have in their locker.
