Forgettable Kye looks a shoo-in for X Factor bottom two

Published:

Kye Sones is the 11/8 favourite to be one of the acts in the sing off on week five of the X Factor and this almost looks like free money to punters.

Gary Barlow has already lost two acts in the opening four weeks and Kye is on icy ground having previously been in the bottom two, when he was saved at the expense of MK1.

He was almost certainly aided by the rebound vote last week with it being massively uncommon for the same act to be in the bottom two in successive weeks.

The likes of Rylan Clark and District3 have managed to extend their rebound vote beyond a single week, but they arguably have larger followings than Kye.

District3 have the backing of the young female voters, even if they share this target audience with Union J, while Rylan’s exuberant performances has upped his fans.

The main problem for Kye, as true of many X Factor contestants in the past, is that his performances are fairly forgettable and is certainly one of the least memorable names of the series.

Fanbase is more crucial than ever this year and even if he manages to stand out more than normal in the ‘Number One’ themed week, this is unlikely to be enough.

This is based on the fact that his performances have been far from bad in previous weeks, but this has not resulted in a blockage of his voting lines.

Kye is also unsurprisingly the favourite at 3/1 to be the fifth act eliminated, although this could theoretically prove a good thing for his survival chances based on the continuous upset results thus far.

If a fifth successive surprise is to take place, Lucy Spraggan seems the most likely to provide it and she can be backed at 11/2 to go out of the X Factor next.
