West Ham move plausible for Upton Park spectator Beckham

After taking in West Ham’s 2-2 FA Cup draw with Manchester United live and in person this weekend, Ladbrokes make David Beckham 10/1 to link up with the Hammers.

Beckham was sighted viewing the game from a private box, with son Romeo amongst his acquaintances at Upton Park.

And whilst the younger Beckham was clad in the colours of David’s former employers Man United, the idea of the former England captain returning to that club seems extremely far-fetched.

Indeed, it is a massive 50/1 that Beckham re-signs at Old Trafford, whilst the same price is afforded to the superstar again linking up with Real Madrid.

Strugglers QPR remain 2/1 favourites to snap up Beckham meanwhile, a player Rs boss Harry Redknapp has long expressed an admiration for.

Redknapp was beaten to the signature of Joe Cole by Sam Allardyce earlier in the January transfer window, but would see ex-LA Galaxy star Beckham as a far bigger coup.

The commercial value of Beckham’s signature would appeal to Hoops owner Tony Fernandes too, and the Malaysian tycoon would support a move for the 37-year-old with the provision of a huge salary.

However, as vast as Fernandes’ wealth is, he may not be able to compete with some other clubs in the running for the globally renowned Beckham.

Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua have already tempted Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba to their club, and the 9/4 shots would pay astronomical wages to make Beckham their latest high-profile addition.

PSG too have astronomical financial might meanwhile, and may be worth a punt as 8/1 chances to secure the services of the former England skipper.

With Paris renowned for fashion, a move to PSG may be most preferable for David’s wife Victoria, following his past switches to fashion hubs Madrid, LA and Milan.

However, as his playing career winds down, it may prove wiser to invest in the possibility of Beckham’s swansong occurring back in the English Premier League.

Back in his native London, West Ham could very well provide the platform for Beckham to play out the final days of his illustrious career, at a very tempting 10/1.
