Barnsley to beat Middlesbrough @ 7/2

These sides may be situated at contrasting ends of the division, but current form completely inverts their league positions. Boro have been beaten in every Championship match since the turn of the year and were obliterated at Portman Road last time out. Barnsley, on the other hand, have won three league games and drawn one since Keith Hill’s departure.

Blackpool fell foul of the Barnsley resurgence last weekend and seem to have found a way to get veteran marksman Jason Scotland back in amongst the goals too. They’re now just two points from safety and a third away win on the spin should see them climb out of the drop zone. There’s no way Tony Mowbray’s men should be odds-on here and this is why it’s too hard to leave the Tykes out of this accumulator.

Bristol City to beat Nottingham Forest @ 7/4

Since Forest’s Kuwaiti owners’ ingenious decision to dispense with Brian O’Driscoll’s services they’ve won one game in seven and seen his replacement depart the club too.

O’Driscoll, who promptly took charge at Ashton Gate, has enjoyed victories in his previous two home games and he, more than any of his players, will be desperate to ensure that Forest return home empty-handed.

Expect the Robins to capitalise on the off-field turbulence the Midlands outfit are experiencing of late and record only their second win over their next adversary since 1974.

Sheffield Wednesday to beat Derby @ 13/10

The Owls are another basement dweller fed up with loitering next to the old furniture and started to get their act together.
They’ve won three of their last four league games, drawing the other, and have climbed to 18th in the table as a result. A home win against Derby, who have been stuttering along in mid-table and don’t travel well either, seems a formality.

The Rams have won just three league games on the road this season, scoring a pitiful 12 goals – the lowest tally in the Championship.

If Wednesday truly have designs on waving goodbye to that rattling boiler and move into mid-table safety this is the sort of game they need to be winning.

Wolves to beat Leeds @ 11/8

Wanderers are overdue a win, having gone eight games without claiming the spoils.

They’re now just two points above the drop zone, but their performance at Leicester last time out merited more than what it got and Leeds, akin to Derby, don’t fare well on the road.

Neil Warnock’s men have lost their last four away-days and, if Wolves can’t beat them at Molineux, then they’re as good as relegated.
