Back Benzema, Villa and Lewandowski for anytime goals

Never mind the circus surrounding the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, if you are looking for an anytime goalscorer treble offering real value then read on.

With the European domestic football action coming thick and fast this weekend, we’ve picked out three players with the potential to provide a goal or two in their respective fixtures.

Ladbrokes are offering odds of just under 5/1 for each member of the trio to oblige with plenty of evidence to support their claims.

While the familiar spectre of Real Madrid features alongside cross-city rivals Atletico and the Galaticos’ Champions League conquerors from last year, Borussia Dortmund, this is one treble without a Portuguese, Welsh or Argentinean star in sight.

Valladolid v Atletico Madrid – David Villa to score anytime @ 10/11

Some Atleti fans were sceptical about the signing of the 31-year-old Villa for just over €5m following a summer that saw the club wave goodbye to Colombian goal machine, Radamel Falcao.

But after an acrobatic opener against his former club Barcelona in the Super Cup, slowly but surely supporters are starting to see the very best from Spain’s all-time top scorer.

Villa has opened the scoring in two of Atletico’s last three games and will be confident of adding to that tally against a Valladolid team that has already lost at home this season.

Nurnberg v Borussia Dortmund – Robert Lewandowski to score anytime @ 8/13

After a summer spent agitating for a move away, it now looks like Robert Lewandowski has settled back into doing what he does best: scoring goals.

The Pole has notched up four goals in five Bundesliga fixtures and is currently enjoying a run of three goals in his last three games, including a brace last time out against Hamburg.

More tellingly, Lewandowski found the net in Dortmund’s last meeting with Nurnberg which ended in a 3-0 victory for the Champions League finalists.

With the hosts shipping eight goals in their first five games and without a win in the Bundesliga as yet, the visitors could be in luck.

Real Madrid v Getafe – Karim Benzema to score anytime @ 4/7

While the headlines belong to Bale and Ronaldo, Benzema has quietly been going about his business at the Bernabeu, regularly contributing goals to the team’s efforts both domestically and in Europe.

With Gonzalo Higuain out of the picture, the Frenchman is the undisputed centre forward at the club and duly showed his value to the team with an important equaliser at home to Betis in their La Liga opener.

Benzema also got in on the act in midweek, scoring in Real’s 6-1 away demolition of Galatasaray. With Los Blancos scoring exactly four goals in each of their last three home league meetings with Getafe, it would be a surprise if the 25-year-old didn’t get in on the action.
