Dialled-in Nadal to sweep Robredo aside in US Open quarters

At first glance, Robredo’s straight-sets victory over Roger Federer to set up this last-eight date with Nadal makes the Spaniard prime upset territory against his compatriot, but guess again.

Not only did Federer press the self destruct button against Robredo, Rafa is by far the most in-form player in New York, as well as having enjoyed the most prolific year on the men’s tour as well.

Nadal takes the career meetings 6-0 over his countryman to date and has won nine tournaments in 2013, including recent triumphs in Montreal and Cincinnati on the hard stuff.

The number two seed is a man on a mission having missed this Major through injury last season and scarily for Robredo has only dropped one set from his four matches, while Rafa’s yet to drop his serve in that time either.

With these stark stats in mind, the 5/6 on under 29.5 games to be played in the match could be worth exploiting, while 7/4 on dialled-in Rafa to serve the most aces at 7/4 is also appealing.
