Jose Mourinho 10/1 to sign his special son at some point

Published:

While Jose Mourinho has returned triumphantly to Chelsea this season, his 14-year-old son Jose Mario has reportedly joined Fulham’s youth set up after a successful trial.

Goalkeeper Jose Mario had played for the Real Madrid Canillas team when Mourinho was in charge at the Bernabeu, but did not join his father’s club this time around.

However, Ladbrokes are offering 10/1 that Jose Senior plays his son in a first team game at any point in his career.

He is unlikely to feature at Chelsea in the next decade, with Thibaut Courtois impressing on loan at Atletico Madrid and viewed the natural successor for Petr Cech.

Also on offer is 20/1 that Mourinho Junior wins an international cap in his career, with bets settled as winners should he represent any side.

Jose Junior is following the footsteps of his grandfather, Jose Manuel Mourinho Felix, who was also a goalkeeper who won one cap for Portugal during his playing career.

He played for Portuguese sides Vitoria Setubal and Beleneses, with the current Chelsea manager also representing the latter during his brief spell as a player.

Mourinho suffered the first set back of his second spell in charge of Chelsea in their last outing, as they lost to Bayern Munich on penalties in the Super Cup final.

The Blues have started well in the Premier League, beating Hull and Aston Villa as well as picking up a point at Manchester United, and they are 15/8 to win the league.

After drawing a relatively straightforward group with Basel, Steaua Bucharest and Schalke, Chelsea are 10/1 to win the Champions League.
