Leeds v Birmingham: 3-2 home win a real possibility

Published:

Looking quickly at the form book, it would be hard not to foresee an away victory at 23/10 for Birmingham when they travel to Leeds next in the televised Sunday Championship clash.

The international break could not have come at a better time for Leeds, as they have lost five of their last six games.

This is in comparison to Birmingham, who recovered from opening the season with a five-game winless streak, by taking victory from three of their last five.

However, these facts don’t tell the whole story, as all of Birmingham’s wins have been on their own patch, while Leeds have played just two of their last six at Elland Road and one of these was their sole success over Bournemouth.

It is 6/5 that Leeds win at home to another of the Championship’s eight-club ‘B’ brigade and it is worth noting that it is only the division’s top two – Burnley and QPR – that have left Elland Road with the three points this season.

Meanwhile, Birmingham’s only positive result on the road is a 1-0 triumph at Yeovil, who have lost all five of their home fixtures this season.

Elsewhere, Leeds have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six games in all competitions, conceding at least two in four of the last five.

Goals have also been common in Birmingham fixtures, with three of their last five witnessing over 3.5 goals.

Over 3.5 goals again is available at 21/10, while a minimum of two Birmingham goals is available at 9/5.

Perhaps the best bet on offer may prove the 23/10 that Leeds win a game in which over 2.5 goals are scored, while there could be some mileage in a saver on the 3-2 Leeds victory at 22/1.
