Arsenal and Liverpool Premier League faves to top score midweek!

Published:

There’s nothing quite like a bumper midweek fixture list of Premier League games to break up the monotony of the working week and to celebrate, Ladbrokes have released some tantalising specials on which teams will plunder the most goals.

With relatively comfortable-looking home games against Hull and Norwich respectively, it’s not a huge surprise to see Arsenal and Liverpool installed as the joint 7/2 favourites.

The Gunners put three past the Tigers without reply last time the teams clashed at the Emirates and Arsene Wenger’s league leaders average just over two goals-per game at home in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool may have lost at the KC Stadium last time around, but there are not many more appealing opponents than Norwich for the Reds to face, in order to blow away that disappointment.

Brendan Rodgers’ side smashed five past the Canaries home and away last season, while Luis Suarez has bagged two hat-tricks against the Norfolk outfit.

Meanwhile, the Premier League’s overall top scorers Man City are next at 7/1, as they travel to West Brom, though only 10 of their mammoth tally of 37 goals have come away from the Etihad.

Chelsea, scorers of three goals in each of their last two Premier League games are 8/1 to top score on their trip to the Stadium of Light and Manchester United are tagged at 9/1 to go goal-craziest when David Moyes welcomes his old charges Everton.

Goal-shy Tottenham are surprising 10/1 shots, while Southampton make an intriguing bet at the same odds having scored four on their last outing at St.Mary’s – where they entertain Aston Villa.

Newcastle are probably the pick of the outside shots at 20/1 having won their last four games, scoring multiple times on three occasions – the Magpies are on the road at Swansea.
