AC Milan to continue winning ways under Seedorf despite handicap

Published:

Clarence Seedorf got off to the perfect start as new AC Milan boss with a win over Verona in his first game in charge, he extended that good work by then publically prioritising progress in the Coppa Italia and can deliver on his word with success over Udinese.

Milan are 2/5 to book their semi final at the San Siro, with the draw at 31/10 and the visiting Udinese a long 6/1 chance.

At those short odds, backing Milan isn’t going to help you clear your mortgage any time soon, so instead looking at the handicap market for some value is the better option.

The reason for doing so, where the Rossoneri are 6/5 to overcome a one goal head start, is down to the formidable home unit that Seedorf has taken control of.

Kaka and co have only experienced one defeat in their last 11 matches in front of their own fans, winning all of their last three outings at the San Siro and scoring seven goals in that time.

That stellar run includes a draw against Champions League giants Barcelona and second placed Serie A outfit Roma, so it’s unlikely than struggling Udinese, who sit just three points above the relegation zone in Italy’s top-flight.

What makes their plight worse is their constant allowing of opposition goals on their travels. The Bianconeri haven’t got a single clean sheet to their name in any away game in any competition this season. Unsurprisingly given that friendly defence, they’ve only managed to win three times in those 12 road games.

That run includes a league trip to the San Siro to face Milan in October, a game in which the hosts won 1-0. In total Milan have only lost one game against Udinese in the last eight meetings, making the 6/5 tipped in the handicap betting even more likely to come in.
