Inter can restore pride in Milan with victory over Chievo

Published:

There are some key battles on the continent this evening with two televised Serie A games shown live on BT Sport, alongside what should be a closely-fought contest between Villarreal and Real Sociedad in La Liga.

Inter are set to restore footballing pride in Milan following AC’s shock 4-3 defeat to Sassuolo and victory for Walter Mazarri’s side against Chievo is the cornerstone of our 6/1 treble, which pays £68.90 from a £10 stake.

Inter to beat Chievo @ 4/9

Successive 1-0 defeats to Lazio in Serie A and Udinese in the Coppa Italia will put plenty off backing Inter in their clash with Chievo, but our news team believe Mazzarri’s side will bounce back at the San Siro.

Chievo halted a run of just one win from their opening 12 Serie A matches with three successive league wins in December, but Eugenio Corini’s side have not sustained that form and are now staring down the barrel of a fourth straight defeat.

So back Inter, who are unbeaten at home in their last six matches, to return to winning ways to close the gap in the race for European places.

Sampdoria to beat Udinese @ 6/4

Sampdoria are on the back of two straight away defeats but the results against Napoli and Roma do not quite tell the full story.

Siniša Mihajlović’s side put in positive displays against both title-chasing sides and did everything but score, especially against Napoli where they hit the bar and both posts with efforts.

And while the Blucerchiati have been in patchy form on the road, at home it has been a different story with only one defeat coming in their last seven matches.

Udinese will have been buoyed by victory away at Livorno in Serie A and a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in the cup but there is no getting away from their scratchy away record.

Six defeats in nine in the league does not inspire confidence, so Sampdoria are selected for victory in front of their home fans.

Villarreal v Real Sociedad – Under 2.5 goals @ 10/11

With the first cup instalment of the three-game Copa del Rey and La Liga mini-series between Villareal and Real Sociedad ending in a 0-0 draw, the attention now turns to league matters.

The Yellow Submarine have not been in great form at El Madrigal in recent weeks but after a 5-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano and a battling draw against tonight’s opponents in the Copa del Rey, manager Marcelino García Toral will hope his side have turned a corner.

On the other hand, Sociedad have been flying of late and are unbeaten in their last five matches but with both sides boasting excellent defensive records this season we cannot separate them and think it wise to back under 2.5 goals in the match.
