Juventus v Roma: Conte’s men to end Giallorossi’s unbeaten start

| 02.01.2014

These two have pulled away from the chasing pack and it seems nailed on that the Scudetto will either remain in Turin or head to the capital at the end of the season.

Roma need to win this tie in order to stay in touch with Juventus, who have opened up a five point gap at the summit. Three more may be insurmountable for Rudi Garcia’s men.

However, just two wins in 16 clashes against the Old Lady does not bode well and goes a long way to explaining their 4/1 price, despite being unbeaten this season.

The hosts have won nine successive games in Serie A and a victory would equal the record set by their opponents here earlier in the campaign.

Juve have taken three points in every league game at the Juventus Stadium so far this term and have three successive triumphs over the capital club in Turin, making the 7/10 on another home win very backable.

The Giallorossi have lost touch with Antonio Conte’s side thanks to a string of draws, sharing the spoils in five of their last seven.

A point may not do much for their title tilt but this is a game they cannot afford to lose and a draw could be on the cards at 11/4.

The home side have been racking up the goals on their own patch, registering 12 in their preceding four Serie A clashes and supporting over 2.5 Juve goals at 2/1 looks a wise investment.

They have also been frugal in defence, keeping no fewer than seven clean sheets in Turin and a win to nil is available at 19/10 here.

Arturo Vidal loves facing Roma, he has three in as many performances against them and at 7/1 to open the scoring he undoubtedly offers the best value in this tie.
