Price Boost: Man United magician great price to break deadlock

| 07.02.2014

Although Manchester United results have been mixed since Juan Mata’s arrival, the player’s actual contribution to the cause has been impressive since trading in the blue of Chelsea for the famous red of Manchester.

The Spaniard has made two starts since making his multi-million-pound switch in January, picking up a win against Cardiff before enduring a shock defeat at Stoke last time out.

However, the diminutive wizard has played his part in Manchester United goals, assisting his teammates twice already; all that’s missing is seeing his name on the scoresheet itself.

There isn’t likely to be a better opportunity for the former Valencia man to break his United duck than a home game against Fulham, the league’s bottom club.

As we’ve already highlighted, the game isn’t likely to be a cricket score, but the Old Trafford side are sure to find the net, something they’ve managed the last nine times they’ve crossed paths with the Cottagers.

That run has a fantastic chance of being extended considering Rene Meulensteen’s side have the most leaky defence in the division, with their 53 goals conceded averaging out to just over two goals shipped every game.

Jumping on Juan Mata’s price to score first, which has been boosted from 5/1 to 6/1, is therefore the perfect betting tonic on Sunday.

Mata only has two goals to his name this season, but has been hampered by a lack of appearances under Jose Mourinho.

So taking last season, where Mata was a far more prominent Chelsea figure, as the sample size, backing Mata’s boosted price to score first looks like a very sensible decision.

The midfielder scored 20 goals for his former London employers during 2012/13 in all competitions, and 10 of those broke the game’s deadlock, an astonishing tally for a midfielder, and a number that makes today’s price boost look very apetising.
