Arsenal star now 5/1 with Ladbrokes to score first against Everton

Arsenal face a crucial game in their bid to end a trophy drought spanning nearly nine years and Olivier Giroud will be a key man when they face Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final at the Emirates Stadium.

And with that in mind Ladbrokes have enhanced the price on the French international striker to score the first goal against the Toffees from odds of 9/2 to 5/1.

It is a feat the 27-year-old has achieved eight times already in a season where he has hit 16 goals in all competitions.

And with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain providing the ammunition for the Frenchman it is difficult to look past him finding the net first for the Gunners, who are 4/5 for victory with the bookmaker bid to reach the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 2009.

Last time out at the Emirates, Giroud hit the first goal of the game as Arsene Wenger’s men routed Sunderland 4-1 with the striker going on to fire a double.

The former Montpellier star is 6/1 to hit two or more goals against an Everton defence that has conceded six goals in their last three games on the road.

The Arsenal striker is 25/1 to send Wenger’s side to Wembley with a hat-trick and it is 7/4 with the bookie that he finds the net in an Arsenal victory.

Arsenal fans and Ladbrokes customers alike will be hoping Giroud can make it a profitable weekend with a quick-fire strike in the lunchtime kick-off.

Elsewhere, Rickie Lambert is also up for the boosting treatment by Ladbrokes.

The England international is now 7/1, from 5/1, to find the net first in Southampton’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Lambert, who has hit 11 goals for club and country this season, has found the net first on three occasions already this season.

He was also on the scoresheet in Southampton’s 2-0 win over the Eagles earlier in the campaign and punters will be hoping he can repeat the dose but also open goal scoring proceedings at Selhurst Park.
