Hall signs new deal to boost Leeds Rhinos’ Super League chances
Published:Leeds Rhinos have been handed a major boost after England winger Ryan Hall committed his future to the club and English rugby league by signing a new five-year contract.
The news allays fears the 26-year-old would follow fellow England star Sam Tomkins to the NRL or even cross rugby codes like his other international colleague Sam Burgess, who will join up with Bath at the end of the NRL season.
But now the winger is committed to helping the Rhinos to a seventh Super League Grand Final victory this season, something on at 3/1 with Ladbrokes.
“I have always signed long-term contracts with the club,” Hall told the Rhinos website.
“I never had any intention of going anywhere, but it is nice to feel that the club want me.”
Hall, who has spent his whole career at Headingley, has scored 158 tries in 197 appearances for Brian McDermott’s side.
The 26-year-old was also a key component of the England side which reached the semi-finals of the World Cup last year and head national coach Steve McNamara will be delighted to still be able to call on the Leeds star.
And it is his club, who have made an unbeaten start to the Super League, who will feel the benefit first and foremost as they bid to finish top of the league for the first time since 2009, also on at odds of 3/1 with the bookie.
And Hall, who has scored two tries so far this term, is ready to help the Rhinos achieve even more success.
“This is a great club, who do things the right way, and I want to be part of helping the club move forward over the next few years,” he added.
“There is a great nucleus of players here who want to stay together and achieve more success for Leeds Rhinos.”
