NBA: Back Nets, Bulls and T Wolves for midweek profit

Published:

Chicago were soundly beaten by Brooklyn last time out after a solid defensive display from the Nets.

However, the Bulls remain one of the league’s form teams and Tom Thibodeau’s men will bounce back in style against the Detroit Pistons.

Back the Windy City outfit at -3.5 and add in spread wins for Brooklyn and Minnesota against Memphis and New York respectively and you could see a return of £69.58 from a stake of just £10.

Brooklyn Nets (-1) to beat Memphis Grizzlies @ 10/11

With Brooklyn (29-29) going into this game on the back of an impressive defensive display against in-form Chicago and being at home a spread of just -1 makes them an easy pick here.

Jason Kidds’ men kept the Bulls to just 80 points in their 96-80 win last time out and have let up an average of just 89 on their current three-game win streak.

The Nets are 5-0 from their last five at the Barclays Center and after beating the Grizzlies (34-25) by a convincing 97-88 scoreline in their last meeting will be confident of going above .500 for the first time this term.

Memphis have won more than they’ve lost on the road this year so Brooklyn will need to maintain their current defensive run but you can bank on the hosts to do just that.

Chicago Bulls (-3.5) to beat Detroit Pistons @ 10/11

The manner of the defeat to Brooklyn took the wind from Chicago’s (33-27) sails but coach Tom Thibodeau will be confident his Bulls can bounce back immediately.

The United Center outfit are 9-2 from their last 11, 4-2 from six on the road and have been more than a thorn in the side of Detroit (24-36) in recent history.

John Loyer has seen his side lose to Chicago on 19 of the last 21 occasions, with the visitors running out victorious on nine of their last 10 trips to The Palace.

These facts – and the relatively small handicap – mean the Bulls have to be backed for a winning return here.

Minnesota Timberwolves (-8.5) to beat New York Knicks @ 10/11

The largest handicap of the treble should not put backers off given the dismal form of New York (21-40).

We recently tipped the 76ers (+20.5) to beat the Thunder and were left with egg on our faces, so this time we’re backing form and going with the T-Wolves (30-29) to hammer the Knicks at the Target Center.

That the Knicks, who have lost seven in a row,  are closer to the playoffs (mathematically at least) than Rick Adelman’s side just highlights the gulf between the East and West conferences and with Kevin Love enjoying games against the Knicks the hosts can maintain their own playoff push with victory here.

Love has averaged 32.5 points and 20.5 rebounds in his last four games against New York and with Minnesota 6-1 from their last seven; the form indicates a solid home win in this one.
