Rochdale and York standout choices in League Two Accumulator

Published:

As the Football League season approaches another thrilling climax it promises to be a tense Saturday afternoon for fans up and down the country.

But at least when it comes to weighing up which teams will do the business in League Two you can rely on our news team to take the stress out of who to bank on.

In-form York, Plymouth and Rochdale make up our tasty treble, paying out £70.34 from a £10 stake with Ladbrokes.

Add in Bury and Scunthorpe and the prize on offer is a whopping £317.57. And thanks to the bookmaker’s ‘One Out? Our Shout!’ promotion, if one of your selections lets you down in fivefolds or more you’ll get your stake back as a free bet!*

York to beat Newport @ 5/6

Nigel Worthington’s York City have been red-hot in the second half of the season while visitors Newport have been the exact opposite, winning just two of their last 16 games.

The hosts only require a point to be virtually assured of a play-off berth but they’ll want to secure their passage in style.

And they’re an easy pick to do just that and collect a fifth win in seven games at Bootham Crescent against opponents who’ve recorded just one win in their last 10 games on their travels.

Plymouth to beat Hartlepool @ 11/8

Plymouth may have seen their chances of finishing in the top-seven diminish in recent weeks but we’re backing the Pilgrims to return to form against a Hartlepool side who’ve been struggling badly on the road.

The Pools have lost five of their last six away from Victoria Park, scoring just one goal during that sequence.

Given that form, Colin Cooper’s side should pose little threat with Plymouth bidding for a third win in their last four home games against the north-east outfit.

Rochdale to beat Cheltenham @ 8/13

Rochdale have plenty to play for against mid-table Cheltenham and we’re firmly on-side with Keith Hill’s boys.

Victory here would cement Dale’s place in the automatic promotion places while also keeping up the pressure on leaders Scunthorpe in the race for the League Two title.

The visiting Robins have nothing to play for and having lost three of their last four encounters with Rochdale, including a 2-1 defeat earlier in the campaign, their chances of getting anything at Spotland look slim.
