GAA Super Bonus Acca: Tyrone, Derry, Galway & Cork feature

Published:

With GAA Championship action now in full swing, our friends from across the Irish Sea have once again been busy compiling the best bets to get stuck into.

This week’s GAA Super Bonus Accumulator features three football selections in Tyrone, Galway and Derry with Cork backed to beat Waterford in their Munster Hurling Championship quarter-final.

Ladbrokes are offering 4/1 on each of the teams above to do the business to send both their respective fans and punters home happy.

Here are our match previews:

Tyrone to beat Down @1/2 (Ulster SFC Preliminary Round)

Tyrone and Down do it all again having drawn last Sunday’s match but despite the latter having home advantage, we’re backing Mickey Harte’s visiting side to secure victory.

Goalkeeper Niall Morgan’s black card for Tyrone helped swing the advantage in Down’s favour during the first encounter but prior to that The O’Neill County had been comfortably on top of proceedings with a 5-point lead at half-time.

Still favourites to progress at 1/2, Tyrone can get the job done at the second time of asking and silence the home crowd.

Derry to beat Donegal @10/11 (Ulster SFC First Round)

Derry’s progression over the past two years under manager Brian McIver hasn’t gone unnoticed with this year’s beaten finalists in the National League Division 1 set for a bright future.

By contrast, Donegal’s All Ireland Championship victory in 2012 must seem like an age away given their dip in form.

Unrest in the camp, combined with the absence of likely starters Rory Kavanagh and Neil Gallagher through suspension and injury for this encounter is another major blow.

Despite that, Donegal remain a potent force and Derry will need to make the most of home advantage to grind out a victory at odds of 10/11.

Galway to beat London @ 1/7 (Connacht SFC quarter-final)

London’s first ever appearance in a Connacht final last year was a massive fillip but having finished joint last in Division 4 this term they’ve been brought back down to earth.

Galway have hardly set the world alight in recent years but they’re traditionally one of the stronger teams and their focus on blooding youth looks like it’s bearing fruit.

And the 1/7 odds given reflect the fact that the Division 2 visitors should have enough to overcome their opponents in Ruislip.

Cork to beat Waterford @ 3/10 (Munster SHC quarter-final)

Waterford’s under-strength team casts huge doubts over their chances of reaching the semi-finals with Cork strongly fancied to overcome their rivals.

And with the likes of Shane O’Sullivan and Phillip Mahony missing out it’ll be a tough ask for Waterford to beat their rivals at Semple Stadium, Thurles, with Clare awaiting the winner in the last four.

An excellent forward line featuring Conor Lehane and free taker Patrick Horgan can put Waterford to the sword with Cork on at 3/10 to progress.
