England handed the Ladbrokes News Final Verdict!

| 18.06.2014

It’s England’s day of destiny and no doubt nerves will be frayed up and down the country but the Ladbrokes News team have given their final verdict on tonight’s crucial match – and it makes excellent reading for Three Lions fans.

Not only have Ladbrokes News readers and Larry The Ladbrokes Sportlobster backed England for victory, Roy’s boys have been given the nod by our news team to take all three points in Sao Paulo.

Now all that’s left to do is for England to deliver!

Yew’s Final Uruguay v England Verdict: England to win @ 11/10

Oliver Yew says: “Positivity replaced the normal doom and gloom around the nation after England’s defeat to Italy in their World Cup opener and rightly so!

“Roy’s boys put in an excellent performance in Manaus, especially going forward, and a repeat performance should be enough to get all three points against Uruguay.

“The South Americans will have Luis Suarez back but in Wayne Rooney we have our own talisman and tonight’s the night the Manchester United striker delivers – from a central position – on the world stage.”

 Beresford’s Final Uruguay v England Verdict: England to win @ 11/10 and Over 3.5 goals @ 2/1

Jack Beresford says: “Hard to argue against a Three Lions win.

“I haven’t been convinced by Uruguay for much of the past two years, with captain Diego Lugano a notable liability, having just been released by West Brom.

“Uruguay will come out all guns blazing here, but England’s first XI is vastly superior and with Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling appearing to take their club form through to the finals, I predict an easy win.

“Let’s just hope Luis Suarez is as rusty as I expect him to be!”

Geldart’s Final Uruguay v England Verdict: England to win @ 11/10

William Geldart says: “Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has already been brave with some of his selections and he’ll need to be both bold and pragmatic to grab all three points against Uruguay.

“La Celeste looked wretched against Costa Rica. And even though they’ll be boosted by the return of Luis Suarez, England should look to shackle the Liverpool striker while also getting at their vulnerable opponents from the first whistle.

“How can Roy’s boys take care of business? Simply deploy Wayne Rooney in a central role to partner Daniel Sturridge and let Raheem Sterling roam free and ensure the full-backs are given enough protection to stifle the supply to Suarez.

“Bosh, job done and England go on to record a vital victory to keep their World Cup hopes alive.”

Foster’s Final Uruguay v England Verdict: Uruguay to win @ 13/5

Sam Foster says: “I find it difficult to believe that Uruguay will play as poorly as they did against Costa Rica while unfortunately for England they may have already reached their peak against Italy in Manaus and still lost.

“Home grown optimism is understandable but that has shortened England’s odds beyond their true mark and so the value lies with the South Americans.”

Curtis’ Final Uruguay v England Verdict: England to win @ 11/10 and Rooney to score anytime @ 2/1

James Curtis says: “The time for pessimism is over!

“Uruguay are over-rated as the Costa Rica result shows. Yes, Luis Suarez is a formidable striker but he usually struggles against the top teams.

“And even if he does score La Celeste look fragile at the back and surely won’t cope with the pace and creativity possessed by the Three Lions attack.
“I’m backing Wayne Rooney to come good and finally break his World Cup finals duck and fire England to glory!”
