We can’t wait to see…which Newcastle signings score the most

Published:

Alan Pardew has overseen some intriguing signings at St James Park and with the season just a stones throw away, here at News.Ladbrokes our mouths are genuinely moist with anticipation over how they will perform.

Using Ladbrokes top team goalscorer market we run the rule over four of Newcastles shiny new imports looking to light up the scoring charts and give our verdict:

Emmanuel Riviere 9/4

The favourite in the betting, the former Monaco man reached 10 Ligue 1 goals in 30 appearances for the runners-up last season. The one-in-three ratio becomes slightly more impressive when considering only 19 of those appearances were starts, but that still remains the 24-year-old’s best return after five seasons in Frances top flight. The Frenchman has netted twice in pre-season so far.

Siem De Jong 4/1

The former Ajax stalwart is likely to play as the support striker or number 10 behind Riviere and has also notched twice in pre-season. De Jongs Eredivisie campaign was hampered by injury last season but he still managed to chip in with seven goals in 19 games. The Dutchman had broke into double figures league goals in the preceding four seasons top-scoring with 13 during 2011/12.

Remy Cabella 5/1

The Frenchman is an exciting acquisition for Newcastle, and will add no shortage of flamboyance in attacking areas and is a definite goal threat. Cabella was the highest scorer of the quartet last season, bagging 14 league goals for a struggling Montpellier side and adding five assists. That was double the 24-year-olds best tally in his career so far though.

Facundo Ferreyra 6/1

The dark horse of this particular pack on loan from Shakhtar is a difficult one to gauge, though six goals in only 13 appearances for the Ukrainian champions bode well for the Argentine. Ferreyra had a decent record in Argentina too and could be a good shout for the daring punter out there.

Verdict: De Jong @ 4/1 The Dutchman has shown he can make double figures regularly
