Kamara: Find out Rory McIlroy’s Ryder Cup tip here!

Ladbrokes ambassador Chris Kamara has backed world number Rory McIlroy to lead Team Europe to Ryder Cup glory against the Americans at Gleneagles this weekend.

The Northern Irish star joined Kamara on the Goals On Sunday sofa last weekend to talk all things golf, the Ryder Cup and about his beloved Manchester United.

And the former Bradford and Stoke City boss believes McIlroy is up for giving his American counterparts a right royal stuffing north of the border to help retain the Ryder Cup.

“Rory looked up for the cup when he visited us at Goals on Sunday,” Kamara told Ladbrokes News.

“You can tell he loves everything to do with the Ryder Cup and thrives off the team ethic involved in the competition.

“As a golfer, the Ryder Cup is like nothing you do in your day-to-day career and Rory just loves preparing as a team and the atmosphere that creates before, during and after the event.

“He’s really looking forward to getting in amongst the Americans and I know for a fact he would have been inspired by Sir Alex Ferguson doing the Team Europe pep-talk.”

McIlroy was not so inspired by his beloved Manchester United’s performance against Leicester City last weekend as Louis van Gaal’s side blew a 3-01 lead to lose 5-3.

But this weekend there will be only one thing on his mind as he attempts to put Team USA to the sword in Scotland.

Before he left the Sky studios McIlory was kind enough to give Kammy a correct score tip!

“While watching Manchester United was not pleasant viewing, Rory did not come to Goals On Sunday empty handed!

“He gave me a tip and I could not wait to share it with the Ladbrokes punters,” he added.

“Straight from the world number one’s mouth – Europe 15 USA 13!

“I’m going for Europe 15 1/2 USA 12 1/2 – that makes 28 doesn’t it? Anyway, maybe it’s Rory you should be listening to here!”

If you think McIlroy’s prediction is the right one to follow then you can back it at 9/1 with Ladbrokes, while Kammy’s selection is available at the same price.

Europe are the favourites to win the Ryder Cup at 1/2, while the Americans are 2/1 with the bookmaker to take the trophy back across the Atlantic.

The draw is available at 10/1 with Europe 4/11 to get the 14 points they need to lift the coveted gold trophy.
