Judy Murray favourite to be axed from Strictly ‘spooktacular’
Judy Murray’s time on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing is nearly over, according to Ladbrokes.
The tennis coach survived elimination once again last weekend despite her Charleston with dance partner Anton Du Beke scoring just 18 marks to put the pair at the bottom of the leaderboard
But the bookies do not think the Scot will last much longer and think her time on the dancefloor will come to an end after she gets her wish of son, two-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray, who is action in Paris this week, seeing her perform.
And that’s a real possibility this weekend when Strictly has its Halloween extravaganza and it’s just a 2/1 Judy gets the boot next Sunday night.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “We’re not quite sure who’s voting to keep Judy in Strictly, but punters are desperate to see her axed at last.
“Thom’s exit was a huge upset and it only goes to show that viewers need to pick up the phones if they want their favourites to stay in the competition.”
Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills is fancied next in the betting at 9/4 to waltz out of the competition on Sunday night but with his big listener following so far keeping him out of the firing line it may be wise to look elsewhere.
And if the trend of so-called novelty acts surviving continues then we could have another shock eviction on the cards following former rugby star Thom Evans’ departure.
It’s 8/1 the only way is the exit door for former TOWIE star Mark Wright making it another shock, while popstar Simon Webbe, who was saved by the judges in the dance off is 6/1 to leave the show.
At the other end of the leaderboard, Eastenders star Jake Wood remains the red-hot favourite to land this year’s glitterball trophy with odds of just 7/4, while Frankie finds herself chalked up second in the betting at 11/4.
Pixie Lott, who topped the leaderboard after her Salsa is rated as a 7/2 chance, with TV presenter Caroline Flack priced at 9/2 after another impressive performance.
Jake Wood 7/4, Frankie Bridge 11/4, Pixie Lott 7/2, Caroline Flack 9/2, Mark Wright 20/1, Simon Webbe 33/1, Steve Backshall 40/1, Sunetra Sarker 50/1, Judy Murray 50/1, Alison Hammond 66/1, Scott Mills 150/1.
