Rotherham v Leeds: Millers to make mincemeat of visitors

Published:

This tasty encounter pits two would-be Yorkshire rivals against each other with a win for Rotherham seeing the sides draw level on 15 points in the Championship.

The Millers are the slight favourites for victory at 6/5 following some solid recent form that included a 2-0 win over fellow northerner Blackburn Rovers while the draw can be backed at 12/5 and a Leeds win is offered at 11/5 with Ladbrokes.

But with a special Result Rush boost available on this Friday night fixture, we’ve picked out three bets worth backing ahead of kick-off.

Rotherham to win and both teams to score @ 9/2

Fresh from picking up a priceless point on the road against Premier League-bound Norwich City, Rotherham will be looking to make it three games without defeat when they host Leeds at the New York Stadium and their recent record at the ground should give Steve Evans some confidence.

With wins over Blackburn and Wolves at home already this season as well as a draw against high-flying Charlton the Millers should have little to fear from a Leeds side that has lost four of the six games they have played on the road.

That said goals have not proven that hard to come by for the Whites away from Elland Road, with Leeds scoring in four of their last five. With the price on Rotherham winning and both teams scoring boosted from 7/2 to 9/2 this looks the best tip of the night.

Rotherham to win the first half @ 37/20

Leeds have established themselves as slow starters this season, having gone in behind in each of their previous three away games in the Championship as well as being 1-0 down at half-time last time out at home against Sheffield Wednesday.

With Rotherham, by contrast, ahead in their most recent domestic fixtures against Blackburn and Norwich, backing the Millers to win the first half has all the makings of a great bet.

Giuseppe Bellusci to score anytime @ 13/2

Brought in from Serie A side Catania over the summer, the 25-year-old defender was the Leeds hero last time out against Wednesday with an important equaliser for the Whites and given the odds available the Italian looks a great value tip for a goal at any time.

With two goals to his name already this season, he has proven as lethal as any of Leeds’ current strikers and could prove pretty handy from set pieces.
