Price Boost: Dzeko enhanced to kick-start mission against Moscow

Published:

Manchester City can’t afford any slips-ups when CSKA Moscow visit the Etihad Stadium if they are to keep their Champions League dream alive and Ladbrokes customers and the City faithful will be hoping Eden Dzeko can fire the Citizens on the way to three vital points.

The Bosnian international is the latest subject of the bookmaker’s first goalscorer price boost and is now 9/2 – from 4/1 – to break the deadlock against the Russians.

The former Wolfsburg target man has scored four goals for Manuel Pellegrini’s side in all competitions and while none of them have been the first goal scorer of the respective games, Dzeko has opened the scoring for Bosnia.

The 28-year-old helped Bosnia give Belgium a fright by notching first in the pair’s European Championship qualifier last month and City will be hoping that form can rub off once again when they face CSKA.

City are in desperate need of three points after letting a two-goal lead slip in Moscow last time out and are 1/4 favourites for a victory which would keep their slim qualification hopes very much alive.

It’s 5/1 for CSKA to repeat their heroics of two weeks ago and seal a point from their trip to England, while they are 10/1 to cause a surprise victory.

Dzeko’s early season form has not been up to his usual high standards but with City expected to dominate against the Russians, the Bosnian international must be fancied to add to his tally of four strikes this season.

The City striker is 17/20 to score at anytime, while Ladbrokes have priced up that he scores two or more at 9/2 and it is 20/1 he fires a much needed hat-trick.

It’s also evens that Manchester City pick up all three points with Dzeko getting himself on the scoresheet.
