Enhanced Treble! Real Madrid, Atletico and Liverpool all to win

| 26.11.2014

It is Champions League Wednesday which means an enhanced treble is the order of the day from Ladbrokes, on wins for three of Europe’s biggest guns.

Like the cushions on your favourite sofa, the bookmaker has plumped the price on a win for Real Madrid, city neighbours Atletico, and Premier League Liverpool out from 5/2, to 3/1.

We detail each side’s respective chances of a maximum-points haul from their particular group clashes.

Basel v Real Madrid, Group B

A 5-1 defeat in the reverse fixture shows the difference between the tournament favourites and the plucky Swiss, purely hoping to escape the group.

With record-chasing goal getter Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, it is difficult to look beyond an eighth consecutive Champions League win for Carlo Ancelotti’s holders.

Atletico Madrid v Olympiacos, Group A

Atletico top a tight group on nine points, but at the Vicente Calderon the La Liga champions and last season’s finalists look good value for three points.

Since losing away in Greece 3-2 on the opening day of the competition, Diego Simeone’s side have re-established their authority in Group A, going on to scoop maximum points from their next three and conceding none.

Ludogorets v Liverpool Group B

The slight joker in this treble’s pack due to form, but nonetheless a club doesn’t win five European Cups without flying in the face of adversity on more than one occasion.

Four successive losses in all competitions have left Liverpool swaying like a punch-drunk boxer in the 11th, though they have already inflicted defeat on the Bulgarian minnows.

If Brendan Rodgers sees sense and freshens his team up, like he did in a very encouraging performance at Real last time out, then the Reds are in with a decent shout at victory.
