Hamilton set for Abu Dhabi GP glory despite Rosberg pole

Nico Rosberg will start from pole position for the championship-deciding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, edging title rival Lewis Hamilton for the third race in a row, but the Brit is still backed to win the ‘duel in the desert’.
Hopefully Formula One betting enthusiasts once again followed our trail of rich pickings this season, by backing Rosberg rather than Hamilton to secure pole and thereby gain the first major advantage going into this most crucial of races.
However, now the odds have been shaken up following yet another thrilling Q3 in the UAE, heading into Sunday’s race it is time to switch allegiances once more.
Although Rosberg clearly has the edge over his Mercedes teammate in qualifying this season, when it comes to the heat of battle, Hamilton’s 10 race wins to the German’s five, will ultimately prove the difference in this title race.

Out-racing Rosberg from behind him on the grid is something the 2008 world champion has managed in two of the last four grand prixs and in four total during 2014.
Meanwhile, of the 10 previous pole positions Rosberg has gained, he’s only turned three of those into victories.
Barring mechanical interference or race incident, Hamilton has proven time-and-time again that he can handle the wheel-to-wheel action better than his Mercedes colleague.
