PDC World Darts: Chizzy to hit most 180s makes Day 4 best bets
The last Sunday before Christmas sees a host of big names take to the Alexandra Palace oche, as we select three more wagers from the PDC darts World Championships first round.
Defending champion Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor have already booked their places in round two, but for many the hunt to be in the hat is only just beginning.
Here’s how we see day four panning out in best-bets format:
Dave Chisnall to throw more 180s than Ryan de Vreede @ 1/3
It’s been a stellar year for Chizzy Rascal who took part in the Premier League for the first time, beat Phil Taylor at the Singapore Masters, before finishing runner-up to The Power at the Grand Slam of Darts last month.
His breakthrough season in the major events is backed up by his heavy scoring at the oche, where only Mighty Mike has thrown more maximums than the St Helens slinger in 2014 at major events.
Over 16.5 legs: Kim Huybrechts v Michael Mansell @ 4/5
The Hurricane could have been handed a far more comfortable draw than against the Northern Irishman who has beaten him on the last two occasions.
All of the last four meetings between the pair have been tight, being won 6-4 to one or the other in best-of-10 set matches, so another nail biter could be in store.
Under 16.5 legs: James Wade v Jamie Lewis @ 8/11
Unlike Hurricane, The Machine should have no such trouble blowing away his first-round opponent at Ally Pally.
The three-time semi-finalist has never faced the Welshman, but the 2014 Masters champion should have too much class for the man ranked 37th in the world.
