It was unthinkable just seven or eight months ago, but Brendan Rodgers’ position as Liverpool manager appears to be under serious threat.

Ahead of the Reds’ banana-skin shaped Capital One Cup quarter-final tie at Bournemouth, Rodgers is the third in the betting at 10/3 to be the next Premier League manager to leave.

Should his faltering side be dumped out of another competition in the matter of a few weeks, Ladbrokes customers can expect those odds to narrow still further.

Having nearly written himself into Anfield folklore in just his second season at Liverpool, his third term could be over by the half-way point.
